About Us

We are a family run Boatyard that has been dedicated during 3 generations and more that 100 years to repair, build and design pleasure and special boats.

About the Boatyard

Astilleros Lagos is a small Boatyard located in Vigo. The yard was founded iin 1915 by Fernando Lagos Carsi, that studied in UK in the King’s College, Univeristy of London and the Royal Technical College of Glasgow. Along our history we have built more that 500 boats.

Nowadays, our main activity consists on the restoration of classic and traditional wooden boats. Also, every year, we haul out in our Boatyard sailors from all around the world, who trust in our hands their loving yachts to be looked after during the winter, and to carry out all the required repairs, and services, so they can continue sailing and enjoying their boat after the season, with a total assurance and peace on mind that the jobs have been performed by professionel who know what they are doing.

Slip Capacity

The Boatyard has 2 traditional slipways where we can haul out of the water sailing and motor boats up to 45 tons in displacement and aproximately 24 metres in length. We  also have a 900 sqm esplanada where we can take boats up to 20 tonnes out of the water with a mobile crane.

The yard is located in Bouzas (Vigo), an urban area, at least than 5 minutes walking from markets, supermarkets, chandleries, banks, boat chandleries, fruit and vegetables shops and good restaurants. By the sea, the Boatyard it just next to the Liceo de Bouzas, and for all who visit us by boat, this Marina is the right one, as the access to the Boatyard from there is adjacent.

The site of the Shipyard in Bouzas dates back to 1940, and our particular building of wood and stone is preserved as the typical Carpinterias de Ribera of the time.
